HISTORY

Quail Springs Baptist Church is a church that focuses on doing things right. Our desire is to serve the Lord through ministry to the Body, the community and the world. Established in 1950 as Nichols Hills Baptist Church, we began with a charter membership of 113 persons meeting at the Laws Lumber Company on north Western. By 1951, the congregation was able to purchase five lots on unpaved Grand Boulevard and constructed their first church building. During the following years, the congregation embarked through several building programs and continued its emphasis on Sunday School and the Wednesday evening fellowship and services. By 1963, the church grew to over 1,000 members. By 1976 the membership was approaching 2,000.

With no further room for expansion on Grand Boulevard, the church voted to move location to a tract of land on north May Avenue. Construction began, and in November of 1982, the church celebrated the completion of the facilities. Fast-forward to today, and the church is undergoing a growth period once again. As the church continues to grow in fellowship, unity and service, the facility needs have also increased. In the fall of 2005, the QSBC congregation voted unanimously to undertake Phase One improvements to accommodate what God is doing among us. We are in awe of the way God is working in our midst and we praise Him for the opportunities He has placed before us.

A Work of Heart

The building project will expand our facilities for pre-school and elementary age children. A new youth building will provide desperately needed space for our expanding youth programs. Phase One will also include necessary offices and workspace for our ministers and staff. All Phase One projects will add more than 36,000 square feet to our current facility. To provide room to grow, we will add approximately 200 new parking spaces.
The Church will be expanded to include more space and increased security for our ever-expanding pre-school and school-aged ministry. This area will accommodate hundreds of youth who will be equipped and edified not only to survive in this world, but to live triumphantly. Our commitment to this long-term growth requires equipping the QSBC staff with the proper space function efficiently on a daily basis, as well as Sundays
and Wednesdays.
