Moving Up!

October 3rd, 2008 by Ray Griffin

Hello Leaders!

I am so thankful for the renovated space upstairs. So many have worked so hard on this new space, particularly Bill Ware, and I am absolutely thrilled to have it. The space is now open, and this week a couple of Equip U classes (Song of Solomon, and Evangelism Toolbox) will meet there at 5:00.

On October 12th, we will have the grand shuffle of Sunday School classes to meet in this space at 9:30 and 11:00. Thank you for your patience in letting me get back with you, even on a bit of short notice, of where you will be meeting on the 12th.

In the meantime, please stroll through this beautiful new space! Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give Glory!

Remember that a Date Night is coming up with our Parent Night Out schedule. Anna Emamghorashi is available to you for your reservation tickets at preacherswife@yahoo.com. She will also be at the preschool desk Wednesday night for assistance with tickets. Date nights this month are on the 10th and the 24th. I’ll have your discussion sheet ready for your night out!

I am praying for you all as you shepherd your groups. God’s Word is living and active, it changes lives. Pray that the Holy Spirit will use His Word this week in your class to change people.

Maintenance

Sounds exciting doesn’t it. Maintenance also has a ring of mediocrity too doesn’t it.

But, what if I decided not to do regular maintenance on my car…oil changes, coolant, and oh yeah, the brakes. No big deal right?

We have been sooo very blessed at QSBC with new guests coming to Quail every week. We all engage in worship to the Lord in spirit and truth, we’re encouraged by the living and active Word of God, and hopefully we’re all spurred on for love and good deeds through the week.

As new folks have come, are you missing anyone? Have you ever heard, “have you seen the “xyz” family in a while? They used to come so regularly, i wonder where they have been.” As soon as you hear that, or sense someone is missing, make contact.

This is really a both/and! We love the new folks coming to Quail, and we want them to find a place of connection and service. At the same time, let’s stay aware of those we shepherd every week.

I am so very thankful and grateful to serve with you in the mission field at QSBC!

New Outreach, Wednesday Nights

August 19th, 2008 by Ray Griffin

Wow! What an awesome Round Up we had. As of this writing, we are still working through guests and members in attendance.

We certainly don’t want to miss any opportunities for contacting those who have been with us, so we are firing back up Wednesday night visitation.

In the room across from the Fellowship Hall on Wednesday nights, you’ll be able to access your full membership ministry roll, your full prospect roll, and also know of any first time guests to your class or in worship by a special sheet on your SS folder listing names, phone, and addresses. Please make a stop by this important room to make the 3 Cs come alive for your class: Cards, Calls, and Contact (home visit).

Because of the number of guests, make August 20th, and August 27th critical nights to drop by the visitation room.

Beginning in September, we will begin a visitation rotation for your SS class/dept. by assigning particular folks to stop in and make the 3 Cs by a last name rotation. So the first Wednesday night, the 3rd, A-Gs will need to make sure they stop by and do the 3 Cs. 10th, H-M; 17th, N-S; 24th, T-Z.

Please make visitation a priority. Look for ways in your SS class to pray for the lost, invite the lost to Fellowships, and contact prospects in order to help them make Jesus the Lord and Savior of their life.

God bless you all! Thank you for all of your hard work with Round Up 2008. LOOK WHAT GOD IS DOING!

ROUND UP!

August 15th, 2008 by Ray Griffin

Howdy everybody!

It is Round Up time. Here are a couple of quick thoughts as you prepare for Sunday:

1. Be ready to warmly greet and get to know everyone. Make sure that folks find connection in your class with others. Provide name stickers for everyone. Continue to be friendly to all in the halls, worship center, etc.

2. Make room in Sunday School. Set up for too many this week. Clear away clutter. Perhaps leave the chairs stacked while you stand for a breakfast finger food beginning.

3. Make room in Worship. Please sit in the middle of the pew. If possible, perhaps sit in the balcony this week. Both of these moves will quickly free up room downstairs for first time guests.

4. If you can, park out. It will be rainy. We’ll all want to be close. I appreciate it!

5. Share your own testimony of faith in Christ. In other words, share with your small group why you are gathered together. Very quickly share where you were in life before He became your Lord, how you then came to faith, and what your life has been like since. Share how your Sunday School small group encourages your walk.

It will be a great day. Pray that the Lord is glorified. I look forward to Crossway being with us. Shine your boots, and see you Sunday!

Ray
