QSBC Sunday School Leader

In about an hour…

October 15th, 2007 by Ray Griffin

The Sunday School hour flies by doesn’t it! Do you frequently feel rushed, or like you are missing something. As a Sunday school leader, grab the reigns of the hour. Try these steps:

1. Start on time. Perhaps folks “don’t show up on time.” Go ahead and start anyway so folks know that you are not creating a cushion. This is valuable time.

2. Use the time wisely. Plan out the entire hour. If you don’t, it will get away from you. Try this schedule:
5 Minutes Greeting/Coffee
5 Minutes Announcements/Outreach Update
5 Minutes Evangelistic Prayer list and Prayer Requests
5 Minutes Introduction
30 Minutes Bible Teaching
10 Minutes Application/Prayer

3. Switch things around. If you feel stuck in a rut of some kind, switch up the schedule. Flip flop some elements, like having announcements and prayer at the end of the hour.

More than anything have fun. Make Sunday School the place you’d want to be!

I am praying for you and your vital ministry!

Ray
