Hey Leaders,

I am excited about meeting with you all tomorrow night in the Cafe to talk about some of the exciting things that are on the way this year at QSBC!

Please take some time to drop a quick email note or call to your Sunday School team about being at this important meeting. We will meet together, and then you’ll have time to plan as a team for the month ahead.

We’ll also take time to pray:
Pray that the Lord will use us in ministry in NW OKC!
Pray that the Lord will use us to touch individual lives this Sunday at QSBC!

See you at the Cafe,
Ray

Let’s Pray Leaders!

Posted by: Ray Griffin | Comments (0)

Quick recap of some things to focus on from our last meeting.

As stated in the video, here is a recap of our first leader meeting of the year. Here are some key points:

1. Focus on what is going well in Sunday School, and what is not. Make tweaks to your ministry with members, visitors, and the teaching time. Meet as a team and talk about the good, the bad, and the ugly and change. This is a guilt free zone, let’s do our best!

2. Focus on prayer. On our recent trip to visit some churches, I came away knowing that I need to spend more concerted, focused time in prayer personally and with those that I minister. Ask the Lord to fill you and use you! The challenge I gave is to meet, this week, as a team to pray before you have your Sunday School small group. Let’s trust the Master’s promises!

I love you all and I am thankful to serve you!

Have you done this before, you head out on a long family trip to make it back for Sunday School Sunday, only to discover that you left your study guide on the coffee table at home? Ouch! Never fear, if your relatives have an internet connection, a coffee pot, and a quiet room, you are ready!

Simply go to:

www.lifeway.com/myextra

Find your lesson type (Family Bible Study or Explore the Bible) and find at least a thumbnail of the lesson with extra helps to get you primed until you get back to your own study guide. Also, don’t forget the trusty and versatile www.biblestudytools.com as you miss your library of resources back home.

Be careful if you journey! Thank the Lord for all of His blessings.

Teach the Word

Posted by: Ray Griffin | Comments (0)

Thank you leaders for making our monthly leader meetings a priority. It is always so good to pray together, to plan, and to take a moment to encourage each other in our ministry.

As you remember Wednesday night we were challenged by a word I delivered from Doug Baker at the Baptist General Convention 2009. He had shared that as Christian educators we must have a firm foundation in teaching the Word of God. Its power transforms people with its knowledge, moving people to changed lives.

This is not just a good idea, nor his idea, as he revealed; it is God’s way as discovered in 2 Peter 1:3-10. We teach the living Word of God every week, to really help people. This is no simple good wish, nor neat saying, nor good opinion, it is the inspired Word that changes hearts.

So, prepare with all your heart to focus on God’s Word this week. Not simply the “lesson.” Let the Word marinate in class. Dive in to it. Let the group think on it for a while and discuss it.

And, don’t be too serious, share your story, lift one another up in light of the Truth you learn.

I love you all and I am praying for you!
